Domestic Violence

Awareness for domestic violence against men.

How unfair it must be to be a man and feel like you can’t talk about abuse. Because society says your are “stronger” or “how could you let this happen?” NO ONE lets abuse happen to them. Even the scales for justice so Men can feel it safe to express their story.

Domestic violence against men is a topic that is often overlooked or dismissed due to the stereotype that men are supposed to be stronger than women. However, it is important to recognize that men can also be victims of intimate partner violence, which can have serious emotional, physical, and mental health consequences.

To raise awareness, it is important to challenge stereotypes and stigmas surrounding male victims of domestic violence. Discrimination and social prejudice can prevent men from reporting the abuse they experience. Encouraging men to come forward and seek help through support groups, hotlines, and shelters can help break down these barriers.

Educating society on gender equality and teaching healthy relationship behaviors can create a safe environment for both men and women. Advocacy and support groups should also make an effort to be inclusive of all genders and orientations, creating safe and welcoming spaces for everyone in need of assistance.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. This includes a range of behaviors (e.g. slapping, shoving, pushing) and in some cases might not be considered “domestic violence.

Did you know that 29% of male rape victims were raped by an intimate partner. For men 44.9% victims of rape in the United States were raped by an acquaintance.
